Sellers Checklist
There is no doubt that the presentation of your property when selling is crucial. Your home is a valuable asset and you want to attain the best possible price for it. Below is a checklist we have prepared to assist you in getting your property ready for marketing.
Inside
- Spring clean throughout, be ruthless
- De-clutter smaller rooms
- Steam clean carpets or replace worn out rooms
- Wash all windows, curtains and blinds
- Maximise natural light flowing inside on inspections
- Clean the kitchen more frequently including pantry
- Place pet food outside where possible, avoiding odors
- Check that exhaust fans and range hoods are clean
- Replace blown light globes
- Clean or paint marked walls
- Check water proofing in wet areas, re-grout if needed
Outside
Consider that first impressions are always the most lasting impression, the first thing that people are going to see when inspecting your property is the front of the house and gardens.
- Broom down cob webs, consider spider pesticides
- Clean fly screens and repair damaged screens
- Trim back trees, hedges, weed gardens and mulch
- Remove any rubbish including timber around house
- Mow lawns more frequently
- Fix all the small jobs that have been put off
- Clean out the garage, this is one less job on settlement
- Pack items away that are not in use
